Light + Dark Matter
Faced with a tight kitchen in Carroll Gardens, the design prioritized functionality for the owner, an avid cook. The solution featured a working countertop that smartly extended into a small seating area, allowing the kitchen to double as an efficient eating space. A dramatic palette was established by pairing dark black cabinetry with bold white terrazzo floor tile from Concrete Collaborative. This striking contrast was softened by a white backsplash and warm white oak cabinetry. Finally, open shelving created the perfect stage to showcase the owner's specialty kitchen items and cookbook collection.
